hi coach, just wondering how you think kriston thompson has gone this year? i think he has turned into a pivotal player rebounding off half back from what I have seen. Myself and my old man believe the power picked up the wrong 'thompson'.. no disrespect to wade intended. great win against the eagles by the way, see you at alberton!
Coach
Hi Trav,

It's been really pleasing to see Kriston's development down back this year. One of the positives to come out of a situation we found ourselves in this year is that you can (in fact are forced to) continue to play these guys in a position and eventually they feel like they belong.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if he gets picked up somewhere yet.

Thanks for your continued support.
Kevin
Finally! A top four scalp. Congratulations!

Clearly our best four quarter effort against quality opposition this season, notwithstanding a fair number of turnovers due to poor disposal.

Was it a conscious decision for players to play on so much? Whatever, I liked it - and it helped us achieve our highest score for the year (excluding the games against South, which don't really count), after recording a large number of extremely low scores this year.

Of course, it demands a lot from the players, but it was all on display - the high workrate, the willingness to run and support a teammate, or to create space and options. Well done to the players - we had a lot of very good contributors.

While the game and the win was very enjoyable, why oh why did we have to wait until round 22 to see it. In a poor year, our recent efforts including the Norwood game and the first half against South, were simply unacceptable and below league standard - and then we come up with a fantastic effort like this. It's very hard to believe these performances came from the same group.

In any event, let's go on with the job next week and end the year on a good note. Good luck.

Coach
Hi Kevin,

You are spot on with everything you say. No one is more frustrated that we haven’t been able to do this earlier than the players themselves.
Two reasons I have cited all year for our below par performances have been injuries/stability of side and goal kicking. It is no coincidence that our best performance for the year comes on a week when we make only one change and keep the back 6 the same for the 1st time this year as well as kicking 9.1 from set shots and 15.6 overall.

As far as the play on bit goes, we are always trying to encourage that but at times we lack confidence and conviction to carry it out. Again, personnel can play a big part. Having played Kriston back there for most of the year means he is growing in self belief all the time, plus we have added Tony Armstrong and Rhys back there as well in the last couple of weeks who just add tremendous class and skill to our ball movement.

See you at Alberton.
Terry
It was a pleasure to be at Prospect Oval on Sunday to see such a group effort and beat the Eagles, just a pity we couldn't do it throughout the year, See you at Alberton on saturday. Good luck.
Coach
Thanks Terry,

Couldn't agree more.
Dave
Hi Daniel.

Well done yesterday!!!

It would appear that everything you've been trying to implement all year fell into place against the Eagles. There was run and carry, the players backed themselves and each other, they used the corridor, there was enormous defensive pressure, there were numbers around the fall of the ball, they kicked straight. Easily the best game I've seen all year.

Keep up the great work.

Dave
Coach
And it must be as frustrating as all hell for you supporters who have been waiting to see it!
The players have never lost faith in what we are trying to do, and if we can get some sort of stability in our side from week to week next year which in turn creates selection pressure, then that sort of performance should become the norm rather than the exception.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Daniel the win was good and it was wonderful to see 4 quarters that has not happened much this year the big question can we improve 2011 and were do you see changes to improve have you got your eye on some big time player my tip for the m.m Jimmy Allan
Coach
Hi James,

We are certainly going to look to add to our on ball brigade by getting a big bodied midfielder who can help with clearances. Improvement should come by getting a more settled line up on the park more often as well.

See you at Alberton.

james moore congratulations on your new posting and i know you will do a wonderfull job just like you did at north and thank you well done
Club President
Thanks Jim,

We have appreciated James efforts over the years here and endorse his appointment at the SANFL.

hi Daniel, great 2nd half effort by the group. we are having a down year, but with a down year comes a great year. we must all remember that we have some very good young boys who at the moment are gathering some good experience for our future. we must stay positive while we wait their development & as we all know this takes time. we must all stay positive for our great senior players who must be feeling the pressure at the moment. to the experienced players, please
do not give up on our great club as we will not give up on you. its a privilege to be a member of this great north club.. cheers bob....
Coach
Thanks Bob,

The experienced players are not going to give up and are hell bent on turning things around next year.
Mick
It was only South, the bottom side! let's get a grip, by the way Daniel what are your plans for next year? I hear a number of high profile players are leaving, maybe you should go as well.
Coach
Hi Mick,

Not sure which high profile players are going next year. If you were at the club Saturday night you would've heard a couple of high profile players speak about their plans and where they see the club going. As for my plans, I plan to be at North Adelaide serving my contract and turning things around. But obviously my fate rests with the board.
Paul
Coach, congratulations to you and the boys on the win on Saturday. The first half from the players and the level of support from the supporters was disappointing, but what was really pleasing was the accuracy in the last quarter and for the first time in a long time we actually finished strong and really punished the opposition on the scoreboard. I agree totally with Adrians' comments to the President except to add there are quite a few notable exceptions that I think are trying really hard, not just No.16.
Coach
Hi Paul,

Thanks for your continued support. It sure was a refreshing change to put a side away like that.
michael
Good to get a win,but still a lot of unforced errors
Coach
Hi Michael,

Yes we still did make errors and will also do so as we are far from perfect. I'm more concerned about the effort and passion shown and the 2nd half was very pleasing in that respect.
