Virtual Runner

Give the virtual runner your message to be delivered to a player or the coach. Keep it short and sweet 'cos he has to remember it. We wouldn't want chinese whispers! If its a good message he will pass it on to everybody right here.

Who do you want me to run to?*

What do you want me to tell them?*

What's your name, mate?*

What's your email?

You really kept me busy in 2009.. I remember all of them. Take a look at what you asked in 2009

Hi Daniel, could you give an update on how the AFL listed players are travelling at the moment?
Coach
Dave,
During this time of the year our contact with our AFL boys is very limited. They, like us are flat out getting themselves fit and ready for the season ahead.
I can tell you that Marlon Motlop broke his foot in November and is on the comeback trail.
Wade Thompson has shed a number of kilos and looks fitter than he ever has.
Andrew Moore (this year's pick in mini draft) is training impressively as is Daniel Stewart who has developed an imposing physique.
Our Crows boys are all up and going and running very well, which of course include James Craig and Matt Wright, our 2 latest draftees. Matt is recovering very well from his late season knee op and will be ready for the season’s commencement.
No doubt both clubs will give most of these boys an opportunity in the preseason games so we will watch their progress with interest.

Hey guys, from time to time i like to offer ideas as you know, I was just thinking with out members this year, how about this...

One home game in the year, (say on a day when we should have a big crowd) Each paid member should be able to take a guest or maybe two.

Adelaide United have done this and it seems to have worked very well, maybe it just what the club needs to get some more members and some more people following SANFL because I think that footy fans have forgotten how great it is. The fact is that these people wouldn't be going anyway so you can't lose any money, I think you can only gain members, bigger sales in food/bev, im sure it would make some news in the paper etc and show that our club is willing to try different things and lead the charge of SANFL.
Club President
Thanks Mark,

With regards your idea, the SANFL actually control all the match days within the league. Accordingly such a promotion would have to be organised at that level. Most think that SANFL prices are very affordable.

I really appreciated having the opportunity to attend the "inside the centre square" session. It is great to see another side of the club up close.
Things like this show how great the club is.
Thanks.
Club President
Thanks Kingsley
The exercise proved popular for those who attended
Tony
please get rid of those hoop sox and go back to the 1970's style with the white top and red bottom this is the real north look if you are serious about our club you will look at this and do something about it thank you
Club President
The Club has had many variations of uniform over the years, the current one will remain at this stage.

I support NAFC stance on the magpies they have only been in the comp since 97 and already have had more support than we got and we’ve been around over 100years shame on you SANFL go roosters
Club President
Thanks Kevin, appreciate your support
Matt
I have just heard that North Adelaide will not be hearing the Port Adelaide merger proposal. If this is the case, that is disgraceful. Not sure what self serving interest this has for the Roosters, but as a Roosters fan, I am wanting you to pull your heads out of the sands and listen to it. If you then vote no, I want to hear valid reasons. I want a premiership as much as you, but this is just stupid.
Club President
Thanks Matt,

Trust you are now up to date on this matter. We never indicated that we would not meet. Our position is quite clear, we support all SANFL Clubs as part of our competition as indicated on the web home page last week.
Simon
Thankyou for the summary of the Board’s thoughts re: Port Magpies and their future associations. It is interesting to see that we seem to be the bad guys in all of this. Is it worth a diplomatic look at all proposals before saying anything more? I am hearing from a lot of Port supporters I know that if their club falls over it will be our fault!!! 5AA and other media seem happy to perpetuate this as truth. We all know that seeing your club being faced with extinction is a terrible situation and even though we have had many battles with this mob, I would prefer they stayed onfield as much as possible. Could the board out line some reasons as to why they will not at least meet with the Magpies?
Club President
Thanks Simon,

Appreciate your thoughts. North Adelaide's position regards this matter, has been brought into the public arena by others. We have never declined to meet.

Vince
I fully agree with Paul's comments on the magpie/power merger. Well done with your stand on the matter. Hopefully the other clubs agree with you and the magpies sort out their own problems, which many other clubs had to do on their own.
Club President
Thanks Vince

I am a North Adelaide supporter, and i support the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL. While I don't personally want a merger between PAFC and the Magpies, I think North Adelaide's position is childish to not even participate in the discussions to at least hear what they are about.

I don't support the merger; the Port Magpies were a new team created in 1997 and mean nothing to me. I support the Port Adelaide Football Club which moved into the AFL. In the SANFL my loyalty is to North.

However, if a merger does go ahead, I will accept that, they will still be entirely different clubs to me, and I will still remain faithful to both PAFC and North Adelaide.

But today I read that North will try to merge with Adelaide Crows if the Port Adelaide / Magpies merger happens. I'm sorry but if North merges with Crows you have totally lost me as a supporter. I don't want anything to do with the Port Magpies, but Port Magpies were born out of PAFC's move to the AFL so I would understand, but I most certainly don't want North to have anything to do with Adelaide Crows. What would be the point of it??

North really need to take part in the discussions to fully comprehend what would be involved to properly inform it's supporters before making idiotic decisions like merging with Adelaide.
Club President
Thanks Jed

The matter regarding the Adelaide Football Club is quite clear. If the concept of an AFL Club/ SANFL Club direct relationship was sanction, we would ‘consider all options’, it would be prudent to do so. If any club ignored this option, it may well turn its back on the many commercial benefits available.

Can you advise please what if anything is happening with the Prospect Oval redevelopment. Each year we here of new plans but nothing has changed. I see there are plans to build new facilities at Norwood and Woodville Oval and other ovals like Elizabeth and Noarlunga are already going past us. Just to have a members area to have a meal and during inclement weather watch the game and have a beer would be a great start. I have been going to Prospect for nearly 40 years but nothing has changed much in this time. And just out of interest will the clock on the cricket club ever be fixed?
Regards
Chris
Club President
Thanks Chris

We agree with your sentiments about the lack of progress at Prospect. It is interesting to reflect back to 1993 when the Club had significant reserves in the form of significant funds at the bank and real estate interests. Those funds were invested in Prospect Oval to prepare for the introduction of gaming to South Australia, history will show that those operations failed. As such the Club could not afford to upgrade. In terms of activity at other ovals, it is a combination of the Club's financial capacity to fund refurbishments coupled with the size of the local Council and its willingness to be involved.

Currently we are strategically well placed for the future but still owe $2.2million. That aside, the Board has committed to staging the upgrading of the Function room facility beginning this year in line with our financial capacity to do so. This activity will comply with the Prospect Council Master Plan.

The clock on the Cricket Club remains their responsibility.
