Auskick
Boys and girls up to 8 years of age, have you ever wanted to learn how to play the game of football? If so, then Auskick is for you. Auskick is the perfect introduction to the great game of Australian Football. The program is based on a weekly coaching program that focuses on teaching the skills and the basics of the game through appropriately modified activities and rules. The emphasis is on providing a fun and safe environment for both kids and parents. The skills learnt at Auskick are a valuable introduction to ultimately playing the game at clubs and schools. Auskick is a 9 week program, with many centres located around the North Adelaide Football Club zone. In addition you will also receive a benefits pack, packed full of goodies, with your very own football, to continue practicing all the skills learnt in Auskick.

Mini League
Mini League consists of two teams within the NAFC promotional zone playing against each other at half time of the league game at Prospect Oval, and is for year 6/7 students. Schools and clubs are rostered from year to year in order to facilitate the large numbers within the zone. We try to accommodate everyone, but with 10 home games a year it can sometimes be quite difficult. If you would like to participate ask your P.E. teacher to contact the club.
The Mini League Manager is Phil Picone.

School Football
Students in year 2/3, 4/5, & 6/7 have the opportunity to participate in a modified rules school competition. This competition is focused on promoting enjoyment and fair play, as well as learning and skill development, but importantly it is all about having fun, and getting a kick. Schools in the North Adelaide metropolitan zone are encouraged to participate in this competition that takes place on a Saturday morning. Schools can combine to make one team.

Friday Afternoon 9-Aside Primary School Football Competition
Friday Afternoon Nine a Side Football is a concept that has been developed by the North Adelaide Football Club. It provides an opportunity for schools that do not have enough players, support staff, or in some cases ovals, to play in the traditional Saturday morning competitions.
The competition largely caters for those not participating in any form of football. Statistics from previous years indicate only 27% also played Club football, so we are basically catering for a new market.
It is a seven week program which runs during Term 3 on Friday afternoon's from 1pm to 3pm.
In 2012 we had centre's at Prospect, Walkerville and Ingle Farm Oval's. The beauty of the competition has been that centre's are set up close to schools, so almost half currently competing walk to the venue. These centres will be the same again this year, with other venues being looked at.
The program is run by students from the Regency TAFE Sports Coaching and Development Course. Their tasks include drawing up the program, umpiring, venue preparation, and timekeeping. This is overseen by the North Adelaide Football Club and the SANFL, through the Development Officer, Jason Rivett.
What are the rules?
Basically the same as Saturday Morning Primary School Football, with variations for Nine a Side.
- The Year 6/7 age group is the only age group allowed to tackle.
- Year 2/3 and Yr 4/5, must bump on the side. Once bumped the player must get rid of the ball, because if bumped twice holding the ball will be called.
- No front on bumping.
- One bounce only, second results in a free kick.
- No grabbing the ball out of the ruck, another person must gain possession before the ruck person can touch the ball again.
- No soccering the ball off the ground.
- No boundary throw ins. Free awarded against the team who kicked the ball out.
- Goals can be scored by any player, but Schools are encouraged to keep the players in their zone.
- Schools are encouraged to swap players positions at the half time break, so the children can experience playing in different positions.
School Football Clinics
The North Adelaide Football Club also comes to you. We run 6 week programs at your school. During the 6 weeks we teach you everything you need to know about football from handballing to umpiring rules. We finish off with two weeks of games so you can use all the skills you have learnt. These clinics aren’t normal drills you might have at your typical football training, we play games that help develop certain skills.
To find out more about these clinics and having this in your school, please contact the Development Officer, Jason Rivett on 0405 455 585.
Football isn’t just playing
There are more options that can be done within your school. If you love football, just like the Roosters love football, than you can do football in every class. Maths, science, history can all involve football, how you ask? If your school has an AFL Ambassador they might know, if not ask your Principal or P.E. teacher to become your schools AFL Ambassador and you can do football all the time.
To find out more ask your school or contact the Development Officer, Jason Rivett on 0405 455 585 at North Adelaide.
Football in High School
High School students can also teach football. They can run Auskick centres after school within your school, if you are both Junior and High. They can run 6 week programs with kids, and this can be an assignment or task for them. The better reviews they get, the more fun and enjoyment the kids have the better their grades. Football is about quality and the more fun kids have playing football the more they will continue to play when they are older. This is something the North Adelaide Football Club would like to develop. If your school in interested in this option, please contact the clubs Development Officer, Jason Rivett.
There are many exciting things happening with football, and the North Adelaide Football Club would love to come to your school. We would love to teach you how to play football so you can one day play for this great club, please give us a call.
